Launch of the Corrie Lipids Program
Corrie Health and Amgen Embark on a Collaborative Study to Help Transform Lipid Management Nationwide
March 10th, 2025
At Corrie Health, we are excited to share a major development that will help us advance cardiovascular care. Thanks to a collaborative study with Amgen, we are now able to examine the implementation of the Corrie Lipids App at three leading health systems across the United States.
This study is amplified by the LATTICE Consortium, a network of independent experts with a shared goal to address cardiometabolic patient care through evidence-based tools and methodologies led by experts in cardiometabolic care. Drs. Seth Martin and Francoise Marvel are cardiologists and experts that participate in the LATTICE Consortium and will lead the Corrie Lipids Program study.
Addressing a Critical Challenge in Cardiovascular Health
High cholesterol (also known as high lipids or hyperlipidemia) remains a leading cause of atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD), affecting millions of Americans each year. Despite the availability of effective treatment, many patients encounter barriers to lipid management, from lack of education to gaps in care coordination.
That’s where this collaborative study of the Corrie Lipids App steps in – pairing dynamic education with innovative technology and resources to empower patients. The Corrie Lipids App is a patient-facing app that provides patients with high-quality patient education and with clinical decision support tools that allow patients to enter and track their LDL-C to help improve patient activation. To complement this approach, the Corrie Lipids Program will also provide clinician-focused lipid education and dashboards.
By focusing on education, engagement and streamlined care, we aim to tackle gaps in care head-on to improve lipids and cardiovascular outcomes.
What This Study Means for Patients and Healthcare Professionals
This study will explore:
· Effectiveness of the Corrie Health App: We will examine LDL-C goal achievement for patients who use the app after 6 months across three healthcare systems. We will also study other health outcomes such as LDL-C test ordering and lipid lowering therapy prescribing.
· Reach of the Corrie Health App: We will track the number of patients downloading and engaging with the Corrie Health App for lipid education and management.
· Implementation Outcomes of the Corrie Lipids Program: We study key factors of implementing the Corrie Lipids Program to more patients and health systems across the country and understand how healthcare systems might adapt this technology for their local system.
