Corrie Wins 2nd Place at ACP

On May 10, 2018, Corrie team member William Yang presented “Post-Myocardial Infarction Recovery Through mHealth: Expanding Access with Loaner Smartphones” at the Maryland American College of Physicians (ACP) Mulholland-Mohler Residents Meeting in Baltimore, MD, which was attended by medical residents and faculty from all Internal Medicine residency programs in Maryland.

The presentation described the iPhone loaner program within the MiCORE study, which enables patients without iPhones to participate in the study and benefit from Corrie. In preliminary analyses, these patients have demonstrated similar outcomes to study participants using their own iPhones. In addition, over two-thirds of phones loaned out were returned for use by another patient, successfully demonstrating financial sustainability requiring only 4% of readmission penalty savings to replace lost equipment.

The presentation was well-received and was awarded second place among oral research abstracts.
